Jordan’s Agreements with the United States

Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) Agreement

U.S. Trade Representative Charlene Barshefsky initiated an agreement on June 19 with Jordan to grant duty-free treatment to certain hand-loomed and folklore products entering the American market under the Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) program.

The government's Jordan Exports Development and Commercial Centers Corporation (JEDCO), has been designated as the counterpart under this agreement and would be responsible for certifying that the handicraft textiles are made in Jordan and they meet the requirements for export as specified in the accord.
