Fawaz Bilbeisi
Economic Counselor and Director

Fawaz Bilbeisi is a Jordanian diplomat with extensive experience both in policy making and International Relations.  Appointed as Jordan's Director of the Economic and Commerce Bureau in Washington DC in 2008, Fawaz works extensively on developing Jordanian-US relations and exploring public and private sector opportunities.

Previous to his posting in Washington DC, Fawaz held various challenging positions at the Jordanian Foreign Ministry in Amman-Jordan. He was Director of the Press and Information Department, until posted to the Jordanian Embassy in France in 2002, where he was responsible for the Economic bilateral relations between Jordan and France. In 2006 he was assigned in the Foreign Minister's Private Office for a year, until his appointment as Political Secretary to the Prime Minister's Office for 16 months.

He also worked two years in the Public Relations field, before joining the Foreign Ministry in 1999.

Fawaz holds a Master Degree in International Relations from University of Exeter, a Higher Diploma in Foreign Service from Oxford University, and a BA Degree in Political Science and Economics from University of Jordan.

Passionate about helping those in need, and in various fields, he has worked as a volunteer with The Landmines Survivors Network, a member of The Hashemite Society for soldiers with Special Needs, and a member of Chevening Scholarship Program Association. Fawaz has a keen interest in current political and economic affairs, and actively participates in seminars and lectures on the issues. He speaks Arabic, English and French
